ABOUT CONFERENCE
In last years, soybean has become the second main crop after sunflower for the oil and fat industry of Ukraine. Soybean production over the past 15 years (from 2003/04 MY to 2017/18 MY) increased 17 times (from 231.8 thousand tons to 3.89 million tons), exports — 48 times (from 60.6 thousand tons to 2.9 million tons), processing - 18 times (from 50.7 thousand tons to 925.0 thousand tons).
According to the forecasts of the Ukroliyaprom association in the new season (2018/19 MY), it is expected that the production of soybeans will be 4.2 million tons, which is almost comparable to the 15-year maximum of 2016/17 MY in 4.28 million tons. The probability is high that 2018/19 MY will be a turning point for Ukraine’s soybean complex, since, for the first time in history, the processing volumes will significantly exceed exports, amounting to 2.7 million tons, respectively, against 925.0 thousand tonnes in 2017/18 MY (almost 3 times) and 1.5 million tons compared to 2.9 million tons (almost 2 times) provided that the changes made to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding value added tax (VAT) refunds on soybean and rapeseed are maintained.
The conference is the only one in Ukraine with a technological focus in the segment of agricultural production and processing of soybeans and has become a unique platform for discussing pressing technological issues of the soybean industry with the involvement of leading research centers, as well as the exchange of experience among enterprise specialists. The event will discuss priorities for the introduction of new agricultural technologies and the modernization of soybean processing, reducing production losses, increasing the economic efficiency of processing without compromising the quality of soy processing products to meet European requirements and standards. In terms of increasing soybean production in Ukraine and growing potential for its processing against the background of increasing European integration processes, as well as simplifying the trade regime with the EU countries, for Ukrainian producers of soybean meal and oil, it is necessary to orient the sale of processed products to foreign markets. At this stage, one of the key tasks is to expand its presence and strengthen its position in the markets of developed countries, which can be achieved by increasing competitiveness, as well as increasing the supply of our products. The main aspects in achieving this goal are improving quality and reducing its cost.
Target audience: TОР management and heads of key departments of enterprises and companies processing soybeans, representatives of agroholdings and agrofinmations that grow soybean, seed companies, livestock and feed enterprises, technical staff of the highest and medium level, specialists of quality departments, suppliers of technological equipment, suppliers of analytical and laboratory equipment.
