Specialized session 4. INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR LABORATORIES (master classes for laboratory specialists)

Within the framework of the conference a specialized session will be held for testing laboratories and quality services of enterprises, organized by specialists of the scientific and methodological center of LLC «Himlaborrеaktiv».

The theme of the master class will be a comparative analysis of ways to measure key quality indicators of oil and fat products and raw materials (oil content, moisture, protein, flash point in a closed crucible, acid and peroxide number, chromaticity, and many others) to demonstrate what nuances arise when choosing the one or other methods.

The program of the session will consider the following issues:

- Select the device to determine the flash point in a closed crucible. What are the types of ignition and heating? What should I prefer - a semi-automatic system, or an expensive automatic one ?; Why these devices often fail and how to prevent it.

- Control of the amount of protein in raw materials and products of its processing. What do you prefer: the method of Kjeldahl or Dumas? What is the difference between Dumas devices of different manufacturers and why is such a difference in the cost of these devices (by the example of 4 devices of different brands).

- Is there an express method for the determination of oleic acid as well as acidic and peroxide number, or do we have to keep it all the time in an old and tested way?

- Is it possible to carry out a full automation of the sampling process of input raw materials and the subsequent analysis of it practically without human intervention, which will allow to avoid errors and errors? We will tell you how to organize it.

- How to choose a method for determining oil content? Soxlet or NMR? Which is more effective or more accurate?

- Why do you need the color of oil and is it always determined by eye?

And also much more.

The master class will be accompanied by demonstrations, videos, etc.

During the session, a mini-exhibition with a demonstration of new products of laboratory equipment and equipment will be presented.

Representatives of enterprises have the opportunity to test their own products on the presented instruments and equipment
